The General Education Council, the faculty senate body that oversees Foundational Studies, is pleased to announce the process for proposing new courses in the program. The primary call is for new University Foundations 100 (UF 100) courses. Instructions for UF 100 proposals are outlined below. Disciplinary Lens, Communication in the Discipline, and University Foundations 200 courses follow a different track, and will be handled initially by you contacting the staff named below. For all proposals, please follow your department’s protocol for course assignments and scheduling.
University Foundations 100 Course Proposals
Submittal Deadline: November 17, 2017
The November 17 deadline applies to proposals for either fall ’18 or spring ’19 offerings. For inquiries about UF 100 courses, please contact Dr. John Bieter (firstname.lastname@example.org), Interim Director of Foundational Studies.
Process for submitting new UF 100 course proposals:
- Read the Foundational Studies Statement
- Download and complete the Foundational Studies UF 100 course proposal questionnaire
- Email the completed course proposal questionnaire to email@example.com
Disciplinary Lens Course Proposals
This announcement ends last year’s freeze on new DL course proposals. For inquiries about DL courses, please contact Kay Wingert (firstname.lastname@example.org), Program Coordinator for Foundational Studies.
Communication in the Discipline Course Proposals

University Foundations 200 Course Proposals
