Student Schedule

Commencement is only a few months away! Commencement is an exciting and busy day. In order to fully enjoy the day, we suggest planning ahead. Here is some helpful information for you and your guests. There is not an all student rehearsal for the ceremony. Instructions will be given the day of commencement.

Saturday, May 5, 2018:

Travel and Parking –

Like most events held in the Arena, parking lots other than the Stadium will need to be used. Shuttles will be available from the Lincoln Garage (located on the corner of Lincoln and University Dr) and Brady Garage (located on the corner of University Dr and Brady St). All reserved and metered parking lots will be free all day. Those who cannot walk a distance may be dropped off at the front of the Arena. Please see Parking for a parking map.

Colleges of Business and Economics, Engineering and Health Sciences – 9:30 a.m.

7:30 a.m.

Bronco Gym doors open for name card pick-up. Please go to the table that corresponds to the first letter of your last name to pick up your cards. Please check your card for accuracy. This is how your name will be printed on your diploma! Need static spray or a bobby pin? Visit the Alumni table while you are in the Bronco Gym for any last minute needs. You must pick up name cards no later than 8:30 a.m.

8:30 a.m.

Taco Bell Arena doors open for guest seating. Seating is first-come, first-seated.

8:45 a.m.

You must report to the Auxiliary Gym for line-up and instructions. Enter through Lobby 3 to access the Auxiliary Gym. Walk-through magnetometers will be used to screen all visitors to the Taco Bell Arena. You will sit with the college you are graduating from. Please do not leave valuables in the gyms.

Please do not bring bags into the gyms or onto the Arena floor.

9:30 a.m.

Commencement begins! The ceremony will last approximately two hours.

11:30 a.m.

A reception for graduates and their families will be held immediately following the ceremony at the Student Union Building. Each college and school will have a designated area where graduates can meet with family and friends after the ceremony. Light refreshments will be served.


Colleges of Arts and Sciences and Education and School of Public Service – 3:30 p.m.

1:30 p.m.
