Sharon Paterson McGuire
Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies

Dr. Sharon McGuire reports to the Provost and has campus-wide responsibilities for leadership and oversight of undergraduate programs and student academic support services.  Advising & Academic Enhancement, Honors College and the Center for Teaching and Learning report to her.  She works with college deans, department chairs, faculty, the Graduate College, the Office of Research Administration and the Division of Student Affairs, serving as an advocate for undergraduate education, promoting a high-quality teaching and learning environment, and facilitating the academic success and retention of undergraduate students.

Center for Teaching and LearningThe Center for Teaching and Learning was founded in July 2006 with the vision that it be the nucleus of a university culture that values teaching and learning. The Center serves all instructors who care about the learning environment they create for students. It fosters dialogue, scholarship, innovation, and excellence in learner-centered teaching. Academic Technologies and the Service-Learning Program are divisions of the Center for Teaching and Learning. Academic Technologies provides educational and communications technology and services in support of teaching, learning, and communicating. The Boise State University Service-Learning Program fosters citizenship and enhances learning through active involvement in academically-based community service.

Advising and Academic Enhancement- Boise State University is committed to providing high quality academic and career advising to students in all academic programs. Advising and Academic Enhancement provides information and support to all undergraduate students and oversees tutorial services and academic advising for undecided students.
