This committee establishes policies and procedures for the awarding of honorary doctoral degrees and acts as the screening and selection committee for nominated person(s).

Faculty representation:
In addition to the University President, the Provost and the Graduate Dean (permanent members), the faculty will be represented by the Faculty Senate President, one member of the Faculty Senate from each of the Colleges and Divisions represented in the Senate (8 total), plus members of the official faculty appointed by the President of the University to reach twenty-one total committee members.
