Course Management

Academic calendar: The Academic Calendar includes semester deadlines and current final exam schedules.

Bookstore & textbook ordering: This link provides general bookstore information and an on-line form for faculty adoption of on-line textbooks.

Curriculum change process: Here, locate information about making curriculum changes to undergraduate courses and programs including the current submission dates, Curriculum Action Form, Guidelines for formatting proposals, and policy.

Faculty access to student data: Find a quick guide to using BroncoWeb to view student data, access class rosters, search for class information, generate your own class schedule, and manage your class permission numbers (pdf).

Grades and grading: Available here are instructions for submitting grades, as well as the grading policy (Policy 4000, Ver. 7/1995).

Library resources for faculty: Contact the Liaison Librarian for your college and department. Library resources for faculty includes services for faculty teaching and research. Course Technology

Academic Technologies: Academic Technologies provides numerous faculty development workshops, a range of services for materials production, a multi-media lab for faculty use, an interesting showcase of innovative technology uses to explore new teaching technologies. You may also gain access to the Qualtrics web-based survey software for faculty and student use here.

Blackboard assistance: Get access to Blackboard guides, instructor manual, site request forms, mailing list, site checklist, and more.

Multi-Media Lab for faculty: The Faculty New Media Center is a multimedia lab in the Simplot-Micron building, Room 101, where faculty can design, develop, and produce digital-media resources to aid in their teaching. It is equipped with current digital-media technologies for web and multimedia authoring, creating brochures and fliers, editing digital video and audio, and developing digital presentations.

Multi-Media Lab for students: The Zone is in the Interactive Learning Center in room 128, where students can design, develop, and produce digital-media projects for academic assignments. Submit an online order for consulting on student media assignments to authorize your students to use the lab, to schedule training, and to identify strategies to plan and manage student digital-media projects.

Online testing center: Proctored Blackboard-based tests are available at the online testing center, located in the Education building on the 4th floor.

Technology-enhanced classrooms: Receive a remote tour of classrooms and learn about the technology available in buildings across campus.

Instructor Assistance

Center for Teaching and Learning: Contact Susan Shadle at 426-4610 or email CTL@boisestate.edu.  The Center for Teaching and Learning has an extensive list of teaching workshops, various programs and events during the year, a special program for new teacher development, training for graduate TAs, travel funds, specialized consultations and assistance for individual instructors as well as programs. From the Office of the Registrar you may access additional forms such as classroom reservation request forms and faculty initiated drop forms, among others.

Distance education information: Find critical information for teaching an online course via Internet, Knowledge Network, Teleweb or Videoconferencing.
Faculty Administrative Guidelines, Orientation handbook, schedule, etc., are also available here, as well as special library resources for instructors and students of distance courses.

Service Learning: How do you incorporate a Service Learning component in your class and find the resources available to assist you? This link includes information about incorporating relevant community service to increase student understanding of course content.

Skillsoft: Over 800 free online courses are offered in the SkillSoft catalog as well as thousands of on-line books.

Student Issues

Disabilities: Obtain advice about working with students with disabilities. Topics include training, rights and responsibilities, testing, and a sample syllabus statement.

FERPA privacy: FERPA provides guidelines to Federal laws for communicating student information with students, other staff, parents or outside people.

HIPAA privacy: HIPAA provides guidelines to Federal laws for the terms of disclosure of personal and medical details and your rights concerning the privacy of your health information.

Registrar Forms for Students: The Registrar’s office provides numerous course-related forms including academic adjustments, student information update, internship forms, and application for graduation. Student needs such as faculty initiated drop may also be addressed by Forms for Faculty.

Student Rights and Responsibilities: This page addresses academic honesty, shared values, classroom behaviors, and more. Help students navigate difficult times by pointing them to counseling services through SOS. You will also find here, the academic dishonesty report form (pdf), conduct report form (pdf), and student conduct appeal form (pdf).
