Service-Related Policies

Service criteria for promotion and tenure: The Faculty Promotion Procedures and Faculty Tenure Procedures each include a discussion of the types of evidence that might indicate service as well as how service contributions will be assessed. Also, see college-specific policies for more detail.

Service Opportunities

Advising Student Organizations: Extensive information for faculty advisors to student organizations, including an Advisor Handbook.

Faculty Senate: Visit the Faculty Semate to access information about the Faculty Senate Standing Committees and the University-Wide Committees. Also available is a list of Senators by College and access to minutes from past meetings.

Shared Leadership Program: This program is for faculty and staff to gain practical leadership tools plus an in-depth view of the University’s processes. The goal is to equip participants with the means necessary to make a significant contribution to the campus community and their individual departments

Speakers Bureau: Boise State Communications and Marketing maintains a Speakers Bureau. To request that you be added to the Speakers List, send an email to communications@boisestate.edu.

Volunteer Services Board: The Volunteer Services Board is a student-run organization that coordinates volunteer opportunities for students, faculty, and staff.
