Research Resources
Division of Research: The Division of Research supports faculty engaged in scholarship and creative activity in all disciplines. Their website provides complete information about all research-related issues, including:
- Identifying internal and external sources of funding
- Applying for grants
- Developing budgets
- Researching compliance training
- Answering queries regarding Internal Review Board (IRB) approval
- Managing grants accounts
- Addressing copyright, patent, technology transfer, and intellectual property issues
Employing students: The Student Employment Handbook for Supervisors includes specific information on hiring and supervising all student employees, including graduate students.
Graduate Assistantships: Graduate Assistantships are approved by the Graduate College. Applicants must adhere to the policies and procedure for graduate assistants; to hire a graduate assistant the process starts with this Application for Graduate Assistantship (pdf). To get a Research Assistant, call the Graduate College or talk to your college’s senior research administrator about including a research assistant in a proposal.

Library research resources: Contact the Liaison Librarian for your college and department. The faculty page includes links links to the BSU library article databases and other resources for research including interlibrary loan and campus book delivery, details about new faculty funds, and information about how to request a library instruction session for your class. For online resources other than library that may be free of charge, check the Sponsored Projects Information Network (SPIN) website. The Albertsons Library ScholarWorks site provides electronic access to scholarly activities of Boise State faculty and students.
